US kills 28 al Qaeda militants in Yemen

A statement from the US Central Command says US forces have killed 28 al Qaeda members in a series of strikes in Yemen since September.

The US military says it's killed 28 members of the militant group al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula in nine strikes in Yemen since September.

The statement from US Central Command on Thursday did not say how the strikes, which occurred between September 23 and December13, were carried out.
