Australian Joe Ingles has attributed his NBA purple patch to having the bravado to take the shots he otherwise wouldn't.
The Utah forward is the unlikely leader of the 2016-17 competition in three-point shooting percentage, outperforming NBA superstars Stephen Curry and James Harden.
Ingles has increased his output in a career-best season, scoring an average 6.6 points from 20 minutes per game, up from 4.2 points from 15 minutes in 2015-16.
The Olympian said encouragement from Jazz coach Quin Snyder had boosted his confidence.
"Making some shots helps," he told Melbourne radio station RSN.

"Coach Quin, leaving me out there, giving me opportunities to shoot the ball and obviously the talks off court behind the scenes (have given me confidence).
"Probably in the past - the first couple of years - I'd obviously given up a lot of stuff and, yeah, just having to balls to take some more shots."
Ingles dropped five three-pointers on his way to a career-high 21 points against Golden State last month, prompting a show of faith from Snyder to ramp up his minutes on the court.
But the swingman says his shooting is far from the only string to his bow, claiming his defensive game was a priority.
"I think a lot of players go out there thinking about scoring ... I've tried to go out there thinking about that. I know that'll keep me out there for a bit longer," he said.
"Trying to get stops and dictate on the defensive-end a little bit, then I know I've done the work to be able to make those shots when they come to me."
