Third seed Karolina Pliskova has booked a Brisbane International final showdown with unseeded Frenchwoman Alize Cornet.

World No.6 Pliskova won Friday night's semi-final against sixth seed Elina Svitolina, of the Ukraine, 6-2 6-4 in just over an hour at Pat Rafter Arena.

The 24-year-old Czech hit double her opponents winners (22-11) and slammed down seven aces to blow away the world No.14.

The former US Open finalist next faces world No.41 Cornet.

The Frenchwoman cruised into the final after her semi-final opponent, French Open champion and fourth seed Garbine Muguruza, retired with a thigh injury after just five games on Friday with Cornet leading 4-1.
