REA to buy stake in India's PropTiger

REA Group has turned its sights to India, agreeing to buy a 14.7 per cent stake in online real estate marketing company PropTiger.

Digital real estate advertising firm REA Group has agreed to buy a 14.7 per cent stake in Indian online real estate marketing group PropTiger for $67.9 million.

Chief executive Tracey Fellows says the company's strategic investment in India, one of the fastest growing property markets in the world, is aligned with its global strategy.

"Coupled with iProperty, it extends our footprint in Asia and strengthens our presence in a region with long-term growth potential," Ms Fellows said in a statement.
