Perth, Great Southern under total fire ban

Large parts of Perth and the Great Southern region are under a total fire ban with temperatures expected to reach 34C in the metropolitan area.

Authorities have issued a total fire ban for large parts of Perth and the Great Southern region.

Throughout Sunday no fires, including those for cooking or camping, can be lit.

Hot work such as metal work, grinding, welding, soldering or gas cutting is not allowed unless you have an exemption.

Perth is forecast to reach 34C with severe fire danger rating for the Perth Hills.

The Great Southern is forecast for a hot and sunny day with temperatures reaching 40C and a severe fire danger rating.
