Todd Carney is raring to go but will have to wait at least a week to make his Salford debut.
The 30-year-old Australian has trained with his new teammates this week after flying into the country on Sunday but Friday's game at Leeds has come to soon for him.
The former Canberra, Sydney Roosters and Cronulla star, who was released by Catalans Dragons at the end of last season, has signed a season-long deal with the Red Devils but was forced to bide his time in Sydney to wait for his visa application to be processed.
"My bags have been packed since we first came to a deal and I'm definitely excited and looking forward to a new challenge," Carney said.
"The boys have made me feel really welcome and the club has been really good. I arrived on Sunday morning so I'm still just getting the feel of the place, but training's been good.

"It's going to take time for me to fit in and to find a place in the team but I'm looking forward to that challenge and to chucking the Red Devils shirt on."
Carney, who was named international player of the year in 2010, is likely to make his Salford debut against Warrington at the AJ Bell Stadium on Saturday week.
