Cheteshwar Pujara has faced more than 495 balls in his dour dig against Australia, breaking Rahul Dravid's record for the longest ever Test knock by an Indian.

Cheteshwar Pujara has set a new record for the longest Test innings by an Indian.

Pujara faced his 496th delivery late in the post-lunch session on day four of the third Test between Australia and India in Ranchi.

Rahul Dravid previously held the record. Dravid faced 495 balls in a knock of 270 against Pakistan, which came during a Test in Rawalpindi 13 years ago.
