Spectacular try fail from Wasps' Le Roux

South African Willie Le Roux has dropped the ball diving over the tryline unopposed in Wasps' 32-17 Champions Cup quarter-final loss to Leinster.

Wasps' South African winger Willie Le Roux has produced a moment to forget with a sensational bombed try as he was diving over the line to score in his side's 32-17 European Champions Cup rugby loss to Leinster.

Director of rugby at the English side, Dai Young, attempted to play down the incident, claiming it wasn't a turning point in the quarter-final defeat in Dublin.

Le Roux's shocker came in the 24th minute after a brilliant run from Australia's Kurtley Beale who weaved through the Leinster defence before linking with the speedy South African.

Speaking in relation to the incident, Young admitted it would have released some pressure with his side trailing 8-0, but didn't feel it was a pivotal moment.

"I think it may have calmed us down a little bit, but I know a lot of people will point to that as a turning factor," Young said.

"It certainly didn't help us, but I'm not saying it was a turning factor because we had 55 minutes to play. We had plenty of time to turn that around."

Hosts Leinster shot out to a 25-3 lead before Wasps stepped up in the second half and got within eight points.

But a late try to Leinster substitute Fergus McFadden booked the Irish province's spot in the semi-finals of the lucrative competition.
