Groups bid for SA power infrastructure

South Australia has received strong interest in building new energy infrastructure.

The South Australian government has received 90 expressions of interest to build Australia's largest battery storage facility and 31 to build a new government-owned gas-fired power plant.

Premier Jay Weatherill says interest has come from a variety of countries including China, Malaysia, France and Finland along with some from Australian companies.

Mr Weatherill says the government has been encouraged by the strong response.
