Silvagni fourth Blue to get AFL Rising nod

Jack Silvagni has one of Carlton's most famous names and now he is a Rising Star nominee.

Jack Silvagni's AFL Rising Star nomination is full of symbolism for Carlton as their resurgence continues.

The third-generation Carlton player is their fourth nominee this season.

Silvagni, 19, kicked two goals in the weekend's win over Gold Coast, which left the Blues only a win and percentage outside the top eight.

His grandfather Serg and father Steve are Carlton greats.

Steve Silvagni is now Carlton's list manager and he recruited all four of their Rising Star nominees this season - his son, Caleb Marchbank, Sam Petrevski-Seton and David Cuningham.

No other club this season has had more than one Rising Star nominee.

Silvagni came to Carlton as a father-son pick in the 2015 draft and he made his much-anticipated debut last season.

He has played 11 games this season for a total of 19.

Silvagni was eligible for Rising Star selection because he had not played 10 senior games before this year.
