Australian top seed John Peers is through to the Wimbledon men's doubles semi-finals with Finnish partner Henri Kontinen.
Peers and Kontinen ended the magnificent grand slam run of Kiwi Michael Venus and American Ryan Harrison with a spirited five-set comeback win on Wednesday.
The Davis Cup ace and Kontinen prevailed 6-4 6-7 (5-7) 6-7 (4-7) 7-6 (9-7) 6-1 after three hours and 17 minutes.
Peers and Kontinen broke the spirit of the French Open champions after fighting off match point in the fourth-set tiebreaker to race through the deciding set.
The title favourites will play the fourth-seeded pair of Brazilian Marcelo Melo and Pole Lukasz Kubot for a berth in the final.

But Peers' hopes of pulling off a rare doubles double ended when he and German Sabine Lisicki lost their third-round mixed match 6-4 3-6 7-5 to Latinos Marcelo Demoliner and Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez.
Casey Dellacqua and Ashleigh Barty lost their women's doubles quarter-final to second-seeded Russians Elena Vesnina and Ekaterina Makarova 6-4 4-6 6-4.
But Blake Ellis advanced to the third round of the boys' singles with a 6-3 7-6 (7-3) win over Mexico's Alan Fernando Rubio Fierros.
Ellis and Frenchman Matteo Martineau also beat ninth seeds Zizou Bergs and Dan Added 6-3 7-6 (7-5) in their boys' doubles opener.
