Australian interests at the US Junior Amateur golf championship have come to an end after Joshua Armstrong's elimination.
The Canberra native was the last remaining hope of the three Aussies in the field at Flint Hills National Golf Club in Kansas.
After being three-down midway through his round of 32 match play battle with American Trent Phillips, Armstrong won three successive holes to be all square with five holes to play.
However, he lost three of the next four holes to lose three-and-one on Thursday.
Australia's defending champion Min Woo Lee was eliminated in the round of 64, as was Victorian Cameron John.
