LNP called on to rule out Hanson deal

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has called on the LNP to release a statutory declaration ruling out a deal with One Nation.

Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk has released a signed statutory declaration ruling out a deal with One Nation at the next election.

The premier tabled the document in parliament on Thursday and called on LNP leader Tim Nicholls to do the same.

"Labor will not enter into any deal, agreement, power-sharing arrangement or formal coalition before and after the upcoming Queensland election. Labor will put One Nation last," the signed document reads.

Mr Nicholls was in April forced to deny a deal had been forged between the two parties after leaked audio revealed his staffer had reached out to Pauline Hanson's chief of staff, James Ashby.

The pair had agreed both sides would refrain from criticising one another.

Mr Nicholls insisted the staff member had acted of his own volition.

In June, LNP president Gary Spence confirmed the party had conducted polling on a preference deal in a marginal Brisbane seat, but would hold back from making a decision until closer to the election.
