Wade set to join LeBron at NBA's Cavaliers

Cleveland's new-look team appears set to add three-time NBA champion Dwyane Wade to their roster.

Only a few minor details remain before the expected NBA reunion of free agent Dwyane Wade and LeBron James becomes official.

Reports on Tuesday claim Wade is likely to sign a one-year deal worth $2.3 million ($A2.9 million) with Cleveland in the next day or two.

The move would pair Wade and James once again after they won two NBA championships as Miami teammates.

Wade and Chicago came to terms on a buyout earlier this week with the 35-year-old saying he wanted to play for a team that was "competing for a championship".
