Adelaide centre Daniel Johnson blew Brisbane away in overtime to romp to an 95-84 NBL win and bury the Bullets' NBL finals hopes.
Johnson finished with a game-high 24 points and 11 rebounds, saving his best for the extra period after the scores were locked at 79-all at fulltime at Brisbane Convention Centre on Sunday.
He drained two big three-pointers and a dunk to take the game away from the Bullets with a sizzling 16-5 overtime scoreline.
At 7-13, Brisbane's season looks finished while the 36ers stay fourth on the ladder with a 11-8 record.
Adelaide remain only one win away from top-placed Melbourne.
Down by 10 points after a woeful first quarter, Brisbane upped their defensive intensity to lead 44-41 at halftime and by 61-60 heading into the final quarter.
Rising talent Majok Deng, who starred in Adelaide's upset win over Perth on Friday, came to the rescue again in the third quarter sinking back-to-back threes.
Adelaide coach and former championship-winning Brisbane boss Joey Wright was happy with his side's aggression when the game was on the line.
"Things were rolling for us in the first quarter and we were coasting," said Wright.
"You just can't take your foot off the accelerator because if you do against a talented team like Brisbane, they're going to get you."
"Daniel (Johnson) ... showed why, at least in my opinion he is one of the best big men in this league and it would be great if he gets noticed more."
Bullets coach Andrej Lemanis summed up the tough loss as "the story of our season".
"We gave ourselves a chance, played well for periods of the game but in the overtime period they made some plays and we didn't," he added.
One of the positives for Brisbane was the performance of teenager Tom Fullarton who got almost eight minutes of court time and came up with five points from a two-from-two shooting display.
