500g coke, gun seized in NSW gangland raid

More than half a kilogram of cocaine and a loaded revolver were seized during gangland-related raids, with a senior Comanchero bikie behind bars.

A senior member of the Comanchero bikie gang is behind bars after half a kilogram of cocaine and a loaded revolver were allegedly seized from a car during raids connected to Sydney's gangland war.

Strikeforce Raptor officers carried out early morning raids on Thursday as part of their investigation into the 2016 hit on Mehmet Yilmaz, who was shot dead in front of his horrified fiancee.

The 29-year-old was gunned down at point-blank range as he was getting into a car in St Marys in September last year.

Eight men, including five already behind bars, were charged over the alleged kidnapping and murder of Yilmaz following raids at properties at Blackett, Meadowbank, Mt Druitt, Stanhope Gardens, St Marys and The Ponds.

During the raids, a 35-year-old man was also arrested when a loaded .357 Smith & Wesson magnum revolver, more than 500 grams of cocaine, a ballistic vest, drug paraphernalia, steroids and Alprazolam were seized from a car at a St Marys industrial unit.

He was due to face Penrith Local Court on Friday on gun charges, while investigations relating to the cocaine continue.

One of the men who faced court on Thursday included alleged Lone Wolf bikie head Erkan Keskin, who was granted bail during a hearing at Central Local Court.

Keskin is accused of kidnapping Yilmaz in the weeks before his death.
