$570m boost for national security agencies

Australia's national security agencies are reportedly set for a $570 million funding boost in the upcoming federal budget.

Australia's national security agencies are reportedly set to get an extra $570 million to boost their counter-terrorism and anti-espionage efforts.

Most of the money in the upcoming federal budget will go to the Australian Federal Police, with ASIO also set to get a boost to make the most of artificial intelligence technology, News Corp reported on Saturday.

The cash will help fund the rollout of AFP's anti-drone technology and allow for more intelligence-gathering in overseas conflict zones.
