6.7 earthquake strikes off Solomon Islands

An earthquake has hit the Solomon Islands at a magnitude of 6.7.

A 6.7 magnitude earthquake has struck off the South Pacific nation of the Solomon Islands at a depth of 33 kms, the US Geological Survey says.

There was no tsunami warning issued by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii.

Australia's Bureau of Meteorology also tweeted that there was no tsunami threat to Australia.
