71yo dies after mobility scooter hit in SA

Investigators are examining an Adelaide crash after a car struck a mobility scooter with the 71-year-old rider later dying in hospital.

An elderly Adelaide man has died four days after his mobility scooter was struck by a car in the northern suburb of Parafield Gardens.

The 71-year-old was hit on Monday afternoon when crossing Salisbury Highway and died in hospital on Friday, police said.

His death takes the state's road toll to 68 compared to 74 at the same time in 2015.
