Four men have been arrested after police seized $80 million-worth of methamphetamine hidden inside generators shipped to Australia.

AFP NSW Commander Chris Sheehan said the shipment was the result of co-operation between Mexican and West African organised crime syndicates.

"From an AFP perspective, the teamwork between these two global organised crime syndicates is unusual," Mr Sheehan said.
