Brian Thomson is a senior correspondent with SBS World News Australia, on assignment in New York City for the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Brian's been out and about in the city speaking to some of the people who became known as the 'early responders' - the people who risked their lives to help others on that fateful day ten years ago.

Firemen, a policeman, a council worker and someone working in construction at the time shared their memories with him.
