9 killed as Yemen funeral bombed

Airstrikes by Saudi-leg jets have killed at least nine civilians at a funeral near the Yemeni capital.

A least nine civilians have been killed in airstrikes by Saudi-led jets at a funeral near the Yemeni capital Sana'a, witnesses say.

All the fatalities in the bombing that took place on Wednesday in Arhab, north of Sana'a, were children and women.

Twelve others were injured in the strikes that hit a funeral hall for women, local residents said.

So far, there has been no comment from the Saudi-led alliance that fights Iran-backed rebels in Yemen.

In October last year, 115 people were killed and more than 600 injured in Saudi-led bombardment of a funeral hall in rebel-controlled Sana'a.

Yemen's internationally recognised government has been locked in a feud with the Houthi rebels since late 2014.
