A grocery store in Vancouver has designed plastic bags with embarrassing slogans to discourage customers from using single-use plastics and bring their own bags.
The East-West Market has been selling plastic bags adorned with "Dr. Toews Wart Ointment Wholesale”.

The store has also designed bags with “Into the Weird Adult Video Emporium” and “Colon Care Co-Op” printed on them.

A video on the store’s social media site explained that 1,000,000 plastic bags are used every minute, but that most are filled only once.
“We redesigned our bags to stop people from taking them,” the video explained.

The store said it not only wants to encourage its customers to bring their own reusable bags but also wants to start a discussion about single-use plastics.
On Tuesday, the country's prime minister, Justin Trudeau, announced a ban on single-use plastics from 2021 in an effort to reduce ocean waste.
