Super Rugby officials are confident AAMI Park's pitch issues have been fixed, ensuring the Melbourne Rebels will host their next home game at the maligned venue.

The surface has been the subject of controversy during the Rebels' matches this season when scrums have caused large patches of grass to be lifted and the issue was highlighted in last week's rugby union Test match between the Wallabies and England.

Safety and player welfare issues emerged as the pitch suffered extensive damage in the Wallabies' loss.

Independent turf consultants have since worked with the Melbourne and Olympic Park Trust (MOPT) to resurface parts of the stadium.

"We are comfortable that MOPT and the stadium's management have taken the necessary actions to ensure the pitch performs to a Super Rugby standard," Melbourne Rebels' Baden Stephenson said.

The Rebels will play the Stormers next Saturday.
