The Herald Sun claims Marcus West will help Mr Abbott become more appealing to the public, including teaching him tips from his workshop called 'Loving the Camera'.
Mr West has coached models Jennifer Hawkins and Lara Bingle, and sports stars Michael Slater and Wally Lewis in the past.

"Tony is a strong communicator and has an authentic and straight-talking style," the adviser told the newspaper.

"That doesn't mean he shouldn't be open to fine-tuning from someone with a fresh perspective. No one should be above getting advice."
But Nationals leader Barnaby Joyce has lambasted the plan to give Mr Abbott acting classes.
"People want reality they don't want pretend," he told Sky News. "They'll smell it like dog poo on your shoe if you're not real."
Mr Abbott's no-nonsense, plain-speaking style earned him the support of many Australians when he took over from Malcolm Turnbull as Opposition Leader late last year.
But his recent aggressive performances against Prime Minister Kevin Rudd - most noticeably in the leaders' health debate - are thought to have turned voters against him.
The Liberal leader has also been under fire over his apparent obsession with fitness and exercise - his participation in an Ironman Triathlon last weekend earned ridicule as well as admiration.
