Opposition Leader Tony Abbott has begun his election campaign blitz of western Sydney with a visit to a primary school he says has fallen victim to Labor's schools stimulus program.
The Faulconbridge Public School was given millions of dollars for a new hall as part of the Building the Education Revolution scheme, but parents say the money could have been much better spent.
They told Mr Abbott on Monday the money should have gone towards refurbishing their cold and leaky library, which has not been upgraded for 40 years.
Mr Abbott said it was a clear case of the government's mismanagement of the scheme, having handed out money at will.
"If this school had been consulted with, before the project went ahead, obviously we would have had serious work done on this library," he told reporters.

Wasting money on the scheme showed the government could not be taken seriously on economic management, he said.
Mr Abbott enjoyed coffee and cake while chatting with students and parents at the school, joined by wife Margie and the Liberal candidate for Macquarie Louise Markus.
The opposition leader plans to visit up to five marginal seats on Monday as part of his campaign blitz of west Sydney.
