Abbott entitled to speak at US group: MP

Tony Abbott's senior colleague Greg Hunt says the former prime minister is entitled to address a conservative US lobby group if he wants.

One of Tony Abbott's senior colleagues says it's up to the former prime minister if he wants to address a conservative US lobby group.

Mr Abbott arrived in Los Angeles on Tuesday (Wednesday morning AEDT) ahead of his speech to the Alliance Defending Freedom dinner in New York later in the week.

"Everybody is entitled to their views," cabinet minister Greg Hunt told ABC radio, saying he disagrees with the the group's anti-abortion stance.
