Incoming prime minister Tony Abbott is finalising his cabinet but no major changes are expected from the those who have been acting in shadow roles while in opposition.
Mr Abbott and his cabinet are due to be sworn in early next week but the coalition is due to hold its first party room meeting tomorrow.
Labor caucus will also be gathering tomorrow to try to resolve its leadership issue after Kevin Rudd indicated on Saturday night he would stand down from the position.
Former minister Bill Shorten has indicated he will stand but current deputy Anthony Albanese still hasn't made his intentions clear.
Mr Shorten is expected to get the backing of caucus members from the Right in Queensland, NSW and Victoria.

Mr Albanese, who hails from the Left, is a popular figure in the caucus and is likely to have strong grassroots support.
