Abbott has no fear of losing Sydney seat

Tony Abbott says he's not scared of losing preselection to factional forces, revealing he was the sole nominee for his seat of Warringah.

Former prime minister Tony Abbott has no fear of losing preselection for his Sydney seat of Warringah.

Mr Abbott says he was the sole preselection candidate after nominations closed, despite suggestions factional forces might try to dislodge the outspoken backbencher.

"The current government is in office because I led them there in 2013 and I think people are conscious of that," he told Sky News on Wednesday.
