Tony Abbott won't say if the coalition plans to reduce a 1.7 per cent levy on big business to fund his paid parental leave scheme.
The opposition leader has promised new parents a six-month leave scheme, paid at the mother's wage, but capped at $75,000.
Mr Abbott reportedly is considering reducing the levy on companies with taxable incomes of more than $5 million, to 1.5 per cent.

But he is holding back on the final details until he officially launches the policy in "the coming days".
"This is a very important part of our pledge to the Australian people," he told reporters in Melbourne on Thursday.
"It deserves its own formal launch ... obviously every single last detail ... will be before you (then)."
The coalition's proposal is more generous than Labor's 18-week scheme for eligible parents, paid at the federal minimum wage of $570 a week.
