The first meeting of the Abbott government's full ministry is underway.
Prime Minister Tony Abbott congratulated his colleagues on their appointments after they were sworn in earlier on Wednesday.
"I think we're all very conscious of the honour the Australian people have done us to entrust us with the responsibility of running this country in government," he told MPs in the cabinet room at Parliament House in Canberra.
"We have won the trust of the people, now over coming weeks, months and years we have to earn it."
Mr Abbott reiterated his government's main goals to scrap the carbon tax and stop asylum seeker boat arrivals, get the budget under control and building the roads of the 21st century.
