Abbott quiet on Turnbull's climate speech

Tony Abbott has opted not to weigh in on Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull's Paris climate change speech.

Former prime minister Tony Abbott has refused to comment on Malcolm Turnbull's speech to the United Nations climate change conference in Paris.

The prime minister pledged to spend "at least" $1 billion from Australia's aid budget to help vulnerable nations cope with climate change.

When asked about the speech as he entered Parliament House in Canberra on Tuesday, Mr Abbott told reporters to have a nice day.
