Former prime minister Tony Abbott is still refusing say if he has forgiven Malcolm Turnbull for taking his job.
"I might exercise the former prime minister's prerogative of silence - there's obviously been a lot of dirty water under the bridge," he told Melbourne radio 3AW on Thursday.
"I have often said Malcolm didn't stay in government to be somebody else's minister," he added.
However Mr Abbott urged Australians to keep supporting the coalition government - no matter how they got their jobs.
Mr Abbott hasn't spoken to Mr Turnbull but says they have exchanged texts.
A few people have knocked on his door to say sorry for dumping him, others have sent texts.
"I've has some interesting texts from colleagues, explaining that while it was a very good government, doing a lot of very good things, the personal vitriol was such that they thought change was unavoidable."
Mr Abbott insists now isn't the time to discuss that further but in time events will be easier to understand.
One of the people Mr Abbott has spoken to is dumped former treasurer Joe Hockey.
"Joe can, and should hold his head up very high indeed," Mr Abbott said.
"Joe produced two outstandingly good budgets ... the first bold and brave, too brave for parliament, but nevertheless it was the budget of a new, strong, innovative and reforming government."
