Abbott says Nauru still in after briefing

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott says he's been told in a government briefing the recent High Court decision on off-shore asylum seeker processing does not rule out his Nauru solution.

Mr Abbott emerged from a briefing given by officials last night on Labor's plans to amend migration laws to reinstate the offshore processing of asylum seekers, including its plan to send asylum seekers to Malaysia.

The Opposition Leader says the officials have confirmed the recent High Court decision does not rule out offshore processing in Nauru.
