The ABC's Leigh Sales has thanked politicians from both the Labor and Liberal parties for helping keep her baby news quiet.
The 7.30 presenter tweeted on Monday that she is pregnant.
"I'm delighted to say that my husband and I are expecting baby number 2, due early next year," she posted on Twitter.
The announcement was followed by a flurry of congratulatory tweets.
Sales, who is 40, added she had to do a live interview during the election campaign "with a bucket next to me". She thanked Labor senator Penny Wong and Liberal senator Mathias Cormann for their discretion.

Sales won a Walkley award in 2005 for her reporting on Guantanamo Bay. She won another Walkley in 2012 for her 7.30 political interviews.
Sales and her husband, Phil Willis, have one son, Daniel, who was born in January 2012.
