Abducted Qld boy found safe and well

Police say a boy who disappeared with a woman in Brisbane after she took him to the shops has been found in Merriwa in NSW.

A two-year-old boy abducted by a woman in Brisbane on Sunday has been found safe and well in NSW, police say.

The blond-haired, blue-eyed boy was taken from a property in Zillmere in the city's northside at noon.

He was recovered in Merriwa, north west of Newcastle, around 3.15pm on Monday, police say.

They could not confirm whether any arrests had been made.

"Investigations into the incident are continuing", a spokesman said.

The boy was taken from a property by the 29-year-old woman, who then walked him to the local shops at Taigum.

They then disappeared.

Officers say the woman and boy are known to each other but won't say what their relationship is.
