Staff at the Australian asylum seeker processing centre on Manus Island are accused of drunken behaviour and sexual harassment of local school girls.
G4S, the company that operates the centre on Australia's behalf told SBS it was not aware of the allegations but is now conducting a full internal investigation.
Manus MP Ron Knight raised the claims in Papua New Guinea's parliament while criticising the lack of economic benefits promised for Manus from the processing centre contract.
PNG Prime Minister Peter O'Neill says he is "shocked" by the claims and will raise contractual issues directly with the Australian Government.
In a statement to SBS, the office of the Immigration Minister said the government will ensure the matter is investigated and, if required, the appropriate action taken
