Accused child killer returns to Melb court

A man accused of fatally stomping on his girlfriend's daughter more than 10 years ago will return to a Melbourne court for a committal hearing on Thursday.

A committal hearing for a man accused of murdering his girlfriend's two-year-old daughter by stomping her to death resumes in the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Mussie Debresay, 37, has been charged with murder, manslaughter and other offences, over Tonnja's death on May 13, 2005.

He is yet to enter a formal plea but in 2005 he denied harming the girl and told a bail application in December last year he intended to contest the murder charge.
