Cassie Sainsbury, who has been detained in Colombia after 5.8 kilograms of cocaine was allegedly found hidden inside 18 headphone boxes in her suitcase at El Dorado International Airport in April, has reportedly negotiated with authorities for a reduced jail sentence.
Prosecutors said the 22-year-old from South Australia would shorten the length of her sentence in Colombia if she was found guilty, Australian media is reporting.
She is reportedly under pressure to "inform" in return for a reduced sentence.
The prosecutors confirmed to 'The Australian' newspaper that the deal had been secured.
"There is a deal between Fiscalia [prosecution] and the prisoner which will be made public tomorrow," a spokesman told The Australian.
It could see her sentence cut from 20 years in prison to three and a half years, the newspaper reported.
The judge would still need to approve the proposition.
She is due to appear in court in the Colombian capital of Bogota on Wednesday, local time.
SBS World News has contacted Colombia's Attorney General's Office for comment.
