ACL surgery for Thunderbirds' Cody Lange

Adelaide Thunderbirds' shooter Cody Lange will have surgery after rupturing her ACL on Sunday's game against the Melbourne Vixens.

Adelaide Thunderbirds goal shooter Cody Lange has been ruled out for the remainder of the trans-Tasman netball season with a knee injury.

Lange ruptured her ACL during in last Sunday's loss to the Melbourne Vixens and will have a knee reconstruction.

"We are devastated to lose Cody for the rest of the season and are rallying around her," coach Michelle den Dekker said on Tuesday.

"It was really distressing for everyone in the stadium to see Cody in so much pain."

The Thunderbirds will bring in a third replacement player for the squad and are considering training partner Kristina Brice.

They lost captain Renae Ingles after she fell pregnant and defender Amy Steel after she was diagnosed with glandular fever.

Adelaide travel to Sydney to face the NSW Swifts on Sunday.
