A Canberra father has been charged with murdering his eight-year-old son.

A Canberra man has been charged with murdering his eight-year-old son.

The boy was taken to hospital after police and ambulance officers attended a home in Jacka on Monday night, but he later died.

His 37-year-old father, who has also been charged with a number of assault offences, will face the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning.
