ACT police refer Brumbies to ASIC

ACT Policing have referred Super Rugby outfit the Brumbies to the Australian corporate regulator following an assessment by its chief police officer.

The Brumbies face potential investigation by the corporate regulator over possible breaches at the Super Rugby franchise.

ACT Policing on Wednesday confirmed it had referred the Canberra-based club to the Australian Securities and Investments Commission following an assessment by the chief police officer.

The Brumbies and Australian Rugby Union last year referred to police the sale of its Griffith headquarters and subsequent move to the University of Canberra amid concerns about some "anomalies".
