ACT, Vic top life expectancy list

Blokes from Victoria and women from the ACT have been found to have the longest life expectancies in Australia, official figures show.

If you're a bloke from Victoria or a woman from Canberra chances are you'll live longer than the rest of us.

Official figures show Victorian men have the longest life expectancy among all Aussie blokes at 81.3 years, while the ACT leads the way for women at 85.2 years.

The Australian Bureau of Statistics data also showed that overall life expectancy for men had risen to a record high of 80.5 years last year, while for women it was steady at 84.6 years.
