The Australian Council of Trade Unions is calling for the rejection of new federal legislation seeking to enhance the powers of the building and construction industry watchdog.
The bills look to reinstate the Australian Building and Construction Commission that was established in 2005 under then Coalition Prime Minister John Howard, but abolished last year by the Gillard Labor government.
ACTU President, Ged Kearney, told Richard Parkin why the union's peak body has written to the International Labour Organisation regarding the new legislation.
