ACTU won't push to wind back trade deals

The ACTU won't push to wind back free trade deals, but Sally McManus says unions want to see workers protected in future agreements.

Union boss Sally McManus says the ACTU won't push to wind back free trade agreements.

But Ms McManus says unions will try to stop any future agreements from being signed with provisions that hurt Australian workers.

"In terms of free trade agreements that have already been signed I think it's pretty difficult to undo them. Really what we'd be asking is for future trade agreements not to have those provisions that I talked about," Ms McManus told the Press Club on Wednesday.
