Muslim activists in the United States have set out to reclaim a word they say has been abused and distorted by Muslim extremists and by anti-Muslim groups: the word 'Jihad'.

They say 'Jihad' is a concept that's often misunderstood, and it has been misapplied by radical Muslims who use it to justify acts of terror.

The activists have launched an ad campaign to take back the word and educate non-Muslims on its true meaning.
