A thief who allegedly threatened a woman with a metal bar and stole her wallet and phone at an Adelaide train station has been captured after police tracked the device to his home.

The woman was threatened about 7am on Monday at Woodlands railway station in Edwardstown, and had her backpack and phone stolen.

Police used the Find my iPhone app to track the phone to a Seacombe Gardens address, where detectives found the phone and the victim's credit cards, and arrested a 36-year-old man.

He has been charged with aggravated burglary and refused bail to appear before Adelaide Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
