Adelaide 36ers have turned to Shaun Bruce to replace injured American import Ramone Moore for the remainder of the NBL campaign.

Bruce, a former Cairns Taipan and Brisbane Bullets guard, has signed a short-term contract after Moore was ruled out for the rest of the season with a left calf strain.

The 27-year-old Bruce, who averaged 16 points off the bench in his most recent stint with New Zealand's Wellington Saints, will be available for the Sixers' clash against Perth Wildcats on Thursday night.

Moore missed four games at the start of the season with the same calf injury with scans confirming he had suffered another strain in the fifth-placed Sixers' loss to Brisbane on Saturday.

The influential 29-year-old was Adelaide's coaches award winner last season as the 36ers reached the grand final series.
