Aeris confirms $812m offer for copper mine

Aeris Resources says it has offered Glencore plc $US575 million (A$812m) for the CSA copper mine in Cobar, NSW.

Copper miner Aeris Resources has confirmed reports it's in late-stage discussions to buy the CSA copper mine in central NSW from global miner Glencore.

Aeris said on Wednesday it has offered $US575 million (A$812m) in cash and shares, plus a royalty payable to Glencore.

Aeris said that funding for the offer hadn't been finalised, but it would likely be through debt, an equity capital raising and a silver stream.

Aeris said the discussions were at a late stage but there was no guarantee the potential acquisition would proceed.

CSA mine is located 14km northwest of Cobar in central-west NSW.
