26-year-old Captain Bryce Duffy, 22-year-old Corporal Ashley Birt and 29-year-old Lance Corporal Luke Gavin, were killed last Saturday when an Afghan army sergeant being trained by the Aussies turned a machine-gun on them, at Shah Wali Kot in Kandahar province.

It was Corporal Birt and Lance Corporal Gavin's first deployment to Afghanistan and was Captain Duffy's second.

The soldiers will be presented with military service medals during the memorial.
